Gratitude, Its good for YOU

Gratitude, Its good for YOU

We, americans, celebrate Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday in November. We mostly make a big turkey dinner with all the fixins, and some have begun calling the holiday “turkey day”. Gratitude seems to be out of practice and a whole lot of depression and stress is definitely a problem.

How do You practice gratitude and how does it work for you? Many people are religious and go to church and maybe they practice gratitude, but probably many just go and the rest of the week, forget all about gratitude. A whole lot of people don’t go to church and forget all about what they already have, while they struggle to get more.

Practicing gratitude can do all kinds of wonderful things for us like make us happier, healthier and calmer, and a better more likable person, so I can speak for myself, I need to work on the gratitude practice.

A practice is something you do on a regular basis until you are very good at it. It is something that takes time and effort and you commit yourself to it, because you find it worth doing. So do you practice gratitude and how does it work for you?

Honestly, every time I get to feeling grumpy and out of sorts, I usually find that I have had my eye on the hole and not the doughnut. How about you?

  2. Hi Bloom Gratitude for what one has is usually a daily thing for most I think, I for one am always grateful to be alive, to face each day with hope and love, to be grateful for my family, I don,t have a need to set aside a special day to feel grateful , however I do think a special day set aside is a good thing for showing one.s gratitude, surely to show gratitude each day is as important… i,m sure the Turkeys are not grateful for being the offering , lol joke Bloom …

    1. I totally agree with you lani…I do not need to set aside a special day, as I am always grateful, I do not think you need to practice being grateful it should be a natural thing.

  3. We should all have an attitude of gratitude.

Sometimes it unfortunately takes an extreme event to wake us up to our many blessings that we take for granted.

Surviving a near fatal accident resulted in my having a keener appreciation for small things that I never thought to realize I should be grateful for; such as being able to open my door and walk into town.

The half full half empty mindset truly is down to your view and how much you choose to focus on the positive.

For we all know we don’t have to look very far to see those who have less then we do in many ways. Don’t take a second for granted in this life and don’t fail to maintain an attitude of gratitude. Everyone benefits by such an outlook.
