61 and I’m Tired!!!!

This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the UK , United States of America, Canada , Australia, New Zealand and South Africa …. I’m 61. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I’ve worked, hard, since I was 15. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven’t called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there’s no retirement in sight, and I’m tired. Very tired.

I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family “honor”; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Chris tian and Jews because they aren’t “believers”; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for “adultery”; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and Shari’a law tells them to.
I’m tired of being told that out of “tolerance for other cultures” we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America and Canada , while no American nor Canadian group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I’m tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off?

I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
I’m real tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and actions. I’m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I’m damn tired. But I’m also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I’m not going to have to see the world these people are making. I’m just sorry for my granddaughter. This was written by the guy below….

Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate

  1. Spot on Pollie I agree ,with all you have written here as do most of us,that is the sorry thing we all agree yet they still have all these rights and our views still seem to be ignored,as you said mart we would all be classed as raciest.

  2. 101 per cent with this. So many people think this way. History has taught that the pendulum does swing, but in the meantime……….. many thanks Pollie for reminding us,just how tolerant we really are!

  3. Wow…I don’t really know how to comment on this article …A very good one… written by someone who was obviously sad …although the article it’s true to reality…I can’t help thinking that it highlights the negatives of the world and life itself.
I personally believe that the world today it’s not much worse that it always was..only that now we have more information of what’s going on …complete with graphic pictures.
    I’m 61 and I still have dreams…hopes and aspirations..
Thank you Pollie for a thought provoking article.

  4. I hope this article has been published widely. It is a great article, but I don’t know as to how large a majority it applies to; I am sure us oldies will associate with it. But I am sure the young generation will say that much of the troubles are the result of OUR earlier excesses.
The comments about Muslim practices of course are so very true. Try as a woman to walk around Iran without a head scarf! And one does it to honor their custom, so why can’t they do the same thing here?

  5. ^5 to Bobby Hall and you Pollie for posting this!!
I too am tired of the way we have allowed our governments to take our “wealth” and make us prisoners
of our own society. I too am tired of my taxes being used to murder babies, harbor terrorists, support lazy people that think I owe them, We have allowed ourselves to become controlled allowing special interest groups to be elected to “our” high offices. America is up for electing a “hopefully real leader” next year. As I was reading your post my mind raced back to the freedoms we have lost in my 55 years on earth. I use to hear an old saying; “for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing. I fear the good people of our great countries have been asleep far too long. Again, Thank you Pollie for the post. The sad thing in America is even though we were attacked in 911, we still have people here that support the muslim belief. Yep, I’m with you Pollie, I’m tired. As far as today’s generation blaming the for-fathers, Its much easier to load blame on someone else than get our hands dirty. Just ask our current ( clears throat ) current president.

    1. Well bored, you’ve dug this one out from the archives. And yes, we all have a great sense of humour. You only joined today, and you seem to have made up your mind from one post. Maybe you should read other blogs and go into the groups.
Or maybe you just want to stay ‘bored’ !!!

    2. Bored, welcome to s.c.,……..you are asking if any one here has a sense of humour,………..my answer would be,we all have our own sense of humour,bored,…..who knows we may have the same sense of humour, lol, lol,…once again welcome, lots of lovely peeps on here,…”enjoy”!.

    3. Not certain as to what you are referencing but a sense of humor is essential for me. I find that people lacking a sense of humor have no ‘sparkle’ – Even if they are intelligent and educated.

What is a day without humor and laughter?
